Well, the construction permit for our house being built by America's Home Place is not ready yet. Austin was hoping The City would give it to him today, but hopefully in the next couple of days.
HERE is the house we are having built (minus the garage)! I am so excited!! Andy (building consultant), Austin (Contractor) and Shawn (Loan Consultant) from the Baton Rouge branch are absolutely wonderful people to work with! If you are looking to get a house built, especially if it is your first they will do anything and everything they can to make your fears of home building/buying go away.
HERE is what the lot looks like with just the "America's Home Place" sign on it. Ray took the picture from the car, so what you see is not the entire lot. The lot is 50' deep x 66' long.
They did spread the dirt today, so HERE is what the lot now looks like.
On Monday (May 18th) Ray and I go to Baton Rouge to set the "start construction" date.
