Something About Everything

On Monday,(May 18th) Ray, his Dad, Juliana and I all went up to Baton Rouge to go over the construction phases and tie up any 'loose ends'.

Yesterday Austin picked up the permit to start building. I went and set up an account for utilities too. Well, actually just electricity for now as the construction crew will need it for their power tools.

They are putting up a temporary pole on Friday then the city's electrician will hook power to it. Austin said the bill should only be about an upwards of $20.00 a month. After the house is finished it will be hooked up to the street pole, and the crew will take the temporary pole to another job site.

Today or tomorrow Austin is sending a guy out to cut down the trees in the back of the lot. I did not really want them to do that, but 1) Over the years they have intertwined with the rusty old fence back there. We want the fence gone. 2) If they are not taken down it will be a safety hazard as the (3) trees will be pretty much right against the back of the house. 3) The crew will have more room to work as our property actually extends 10 foot beyond the fence. The only thing is, in order for it to cost us no more than $400 (worked into the loan) we have to haul off the trees ourselves after they are cut into chucks. I wish we had a way to bring them to Florida with us, but somehow I do not see that happening LMSO. Ray said he wants to talk to Billy to see if he wants them to burn off in the back of their land. If all else fails we can take them to the Berwick dump.

I am sure Ray will go by to see if they have done anything new on the lot today.

Austin said it should take the crew (weather ect permitting) about 7 days to frame and paper the house AFTER the concrete foundation is finished. I do not remember how long Austin said it would take to do the foundation itself. Austin did say that from start to finish houses take them about 126 days to finish (again weather ect permitting).

Also yesterday, we went to Houma to pick up Ray's new glasses from America's Best: Contacts and Eyeglasses.

Afterward we went over to see J.J. We hadn't visited him and his Mom in about 3 months, I believe. We ended up watching "American Idol". I always like going over there. We enjoy it very much. A lil' while after Juliana ate 2 servings of carrots and 4 oz. of formula she fell asleep for about an hour in J.J. arms. hehe I wish I could have videotaped her Daddy feeding her. It was the first time he had fed her the baby food lol.

This morning, Juliana woke up about 7:30. I fixed her oatmeal cereal mixed with her warm formula instead of just warm water; I got a much better response today than before. I also have switched her from the rice cereal to the single grain oatmeal cereal. Sorry, I did not get to take any pictures.

After she ate I brought her out here to the living room to play on the floor for a lil' while, knowing fulling well soon she would want to go back to bed, and also fearing that she would not want to be on the floor.

See, for the last month, or so she would fuss about being on the floor (on her play mat) for more than five or ten minutes at a time, usually the latter of the two. Well, I am now starting to get a bit worried because she basically refuses to be on her tummy at all on the floor. Now, this morning she stayed on the floor playing for almost an hour which is a good thing, but she was still just on her back. I do not know what to do. If she is not rolling over by her 6 month appointment for shots. Her doctor may start thinking there is something wrong with her.

I mean, the other day after Ray got home from work I put her on the floor. I timed it. She screamed and cried for 45 minutes. As soon as one of us picked her up she was fine. I just do not know what to do. Hopefully this morning is the start her enjoying being on the floor which will lead to everything else. I am afraid it may have just been a fluke though. This is so hard.

HERE
is a picture of Miss Juliana in between changing her clothes lol.

HERE, HERE and HERE are pictures of her in the the jumper her Parran (Jay) gave her.

1HERE, 2HERE,3HERE and 4HERE are pictures of her first carrots feeding. HERE and HERE are pictures of her in her highchair after eating carrots.

I also have a picture of Juliana and her Maw-Maw sleeping in her Paw-Paw's chair as well as a picture of her and her Paw-Paw sleeping in his chair, but I do not know if they would want me to post those pictures. But it was cute! When we go to Florida for my birthday in July (assuming something does not comes up) we will bring all the pictures hehe.

On a completely different note, I found Isabell already out of her kennel in the bathroom this morning. Well, the brand new pair of underwear I had forgotten in there are no more. She did not tare up anything else thank God! lol

Oh and, I have to go buy new shoes at Wal-Mart today because apparently the 10 minutes I was gone out of the living room earlier to put Juliana down for a nap, Honey decided to rip the insoles out of my shoes and rip them apart. She has not done something like that in about 5 years! And actually she has NEVER torn up SHOES before. I guess we are going to have to start giving them back ropes to chew on. It is just so hard to do because both Isabell and Honey swallow the rope pieces. But that is also partly why we only give then rope instead of stuffed animals and such. What makes it harder is neither of them like dog bones or the like.
