Our Powerplay Movies in August

Hello all,

The $40.00 Powerplay plan (split between two households) from Movie Gallery. Each movie is $4.29 Just on rented movies we would have already spent $111.54 (not including tax).

We have already rented the following: (26 movies)

Dead Wood- Another low-budget film for Ray's Dad 'young men and women out camping...serial killer' type.
Necessary Evil- Another low budget one for Ray's Dad . I did not pay much attention to it. Ray, Ben and I were playing the Electronic Monopoly on the living room floor at the time.
Pride and Glory-Another cops and bad boys on the streets movie that Ray and lost interest in. We shut it off and took it back to Movie Gallery to get the next three you see on the list.
Race to Witch Mountain-It was good for the same old sifi stuff. Nothing special. I was excepting more from Disney, I guess.
Soloist-OMG don't waste your time watching the movie "The Soloist" it starts out okay but drags on with the same crap over and over again round and round in circles basically. Jamie Fox's performance is WONDERFUL, but the movie itself has becomes boring. I am all for giving someone a hand up, and all for the "true story movies" but geesh.
Obsessed-It started out kinda boring, but if you make yourself watch after the first 20 or 30 minutes, you will not be sorry. AWESOME movie!
Delgo- It was cute. I do know if kids would be interested, but it is okay for kids around 10 years old.
War Wolves I agree with one of the user comments on IMDB (the link) "...the effects are poor, and the acting is laughable."
Labor Pains It was okay. It was better than "Herbie Fully Loaded" but not as good as "Georgia Rule"
Phoebe in Wonderland-I got bored with it and kids would too.
Cat's the Movie- This was so dumb. I think the director ect was trying to go for something like a "Milo and Odes" type thing. But it is low budget and a waste of anyone's time. It is video footage of a cat that gets out of his house in the city and gets lost while its 'mother' is gone for a couple days. All 'they' did was add voices to the footage. That is it!
The Baseline Killer- extremely low budget waste of time. Why would anyone even want to addmitt to being a part of this film is beyond me.
Road Trip Beer Pong- Another one of Ray's dumb have naked college frat boy movies.
I Love You, Man- It was pretty good. Funny and sentimental. Paul Rudd and Jason Segel work so well together.
17 Again It was good but most of the conpect is old news. BUT I have not seen anything like it in a while, so I guess that helps. Although, of course, the first thing that comes to mind is "13 going on 30". Personally I thought 17 Again was a little better.
Mutant Chronicles-No one ever finished watching this movie. It was dark and dim and even a bit hard to see the characters throughout what I did see.
Lonely Streets It was suprisingly okay. A bit low budget, but not a complete waste of time.
The Last House on the Left-It was a good movie, but for the most part, it was just as disturbing as "Deliverance."
Nature's Grave-This was a strange movie. James Caviezel actually plays an asshole in this movie. It stunned me. And the movie appears to have no real resolve. I applaud James Caviezel and Claudia Karvan performaces as you could really feel the tension between the two of them, but why they decided to be a part of this movie is beyond me.
Balls Out- The best way to decide this movie is "Mr. Woodcock" meets "Balls of Fury" Personally it wasn't horrible, but it was not great either.
Sunshine Cleaning This was incredible cute. I have not seen anything like it. It is not in my top favorite, or even one I would buy, but it was nice to see something different for a change! I do recommend it.
Fighting- I agree with the comments for the user on IMDB this movie is lifeless, with no good fighting scenes, No chartacter build, nothing. If you want to see Channing Tatum you are better off buying a poster than watching this movie. I have seen worse by more famous actors, but the line is thin. What a disappointment. Give me "Step Up" any day of the week!
DuplicityIf it wasn't for the sharp wittiness of Julia Roberts and Clive Owen it would have been even more boring than it was. It was like watching "Mr. and Mrs. Smith" without any of the action scenes. I can't say it was complete waste of time, but there is a thin line drawn.
